Spring has come in like a lion!

To say this month of March has been stressful is definitely an understatement! We have all had to adapt to a new way of life. Instead of hanging out with friends and family we are secluded in our houses trying to avoid this dreadful virus. Our hands feel like they will fall off from all the soap, water, and hand sanitizer! We are definitely not enjoying spring like we normally would!

We are also not racing about like crazy people trying to get to all the places we maybe don't really need to be. Instead of racing to our lessons/sports/dinners out, we are having homecooked meals with our kids. Some are lucky (although they may not feel that way now) to be off during this crisis and get to spend more time with their immediate family making memories and playing in the backyard. For some of us we are essential services and are on the front lines keeping the country going in this difficult time. Whoever you are this has affected us all in ways we will never forget. How we manage the lemons we are given will determine if we have a sour face or enjoy the lemonade.

The studio is usually full of happy children at this time of year coming for Spring/Easter pictures. We were lucky to do a few sessions before we had to close. Not the way I saw the month, but I am grateful for what we were able to accomplish in the short time we had. Instead of dwelling on what we missed, I will enjoy using the time to take a walk in the bush with my kids. I will work on some new projects in the studio, maybe organize my pictures...maybe even print the ones from last year! Lol. I now have no excuse to put off my bookwork...although I'm sure I can find something more fun to do. Lol.

However we all spend the next few weeks or months, I'm hopeful we all have a new appreciation for the little things in life. We won't take for granted seeing our extended family, going to the mall, cheering on the winning team, or a casual dinner out with friends. We will understand a little better what our grandparents went through during the war when supplies were limited (although I don't remember Grandma mentioning a shortage of toilet paper!!). The most important thing to remember in the coming weeks is that we all handle stress differently and not everyone handles it well. That young women who just yelled at you in the store may have just had to cancel her dream wedding, the old man who cut you off may not have seen his family for weeks, the child throwing a fit may have a nurse for a mother that they have not seen in weeks. So please be kind to everyone.

Hopefully if spring comes in like a lion it will go out like a lamb and we can all enjoy life normally again soon.

I hope everyone stays safe...and don't forget to wash your hands!!
