Well we have survived another month of quarantine. Our lives are adapting to the new normal and we are no longer in panic mode. As parents we have become stronger I think. We now are full time caregivers, teachers, breadwinners, best friends, and parents all rolled into one. I don't know about everyone else by I am exhausted trying to be all things to all people! The biggest thing for me is not being stuck at home...it is finding 5 minutes to be alone! With the onset of warmer weather I dream of days when the kids can play outside for hours and I can get a quiet house to myself. Until then we spend our time doing homework (ok fighting over doing homework), taking field trips to the bush and finding some animal friends, and learning new skills around the farm. The kids are learning barn chore skills, tractor skills, and the ever popular skill of picking stones! Lol. As the weather warms up we will be able to learn how to plant a garden, how to mow the lawn, how to relax and enjoy the birds chirping, & how to play outdoor games at home. I like to think the kids will remember the fun they had doing simpler things like having campfires and spending time together as opposed to what they missed out on. Hopefully we will soon be able to spend time with family and friends again as we all miss that. I do think spending time at home has not been a bad thing. We have learned to slow down a bit and enjoy the little moments. Hope all of you are finding the same thing
